In the mid 1800's Malcolm Fraser decided to clear land, and build a farm on a mountain-side, high above the Margaree Valley. In the 1920's, with Malcolm in his eighties,  the farm house was cut in two, and brought to the base of the mountain where it stands today. Even after the homestead was moved, the mountain farm continued to work. Over the past century and a half, the field cleared by Malcolm has supported, three large barns -housing as many as 100 horses- turnip and potato crop, pasture, and numerous other structures. 

Six generations later, Malcolms' descendants have chiseled Valley View Chalets into the side of what is known as Frasers' Mountain to create luxurious, year-round accommodations. Opening in March of 2020, the 360 square foot chalets provide breathtaking views of the Valley from inside the studio style buildings, and from their 200 sq/ft verandas. These fully equipped rentals feature full kitchens, washrooms, air conditioning, Wifi, satellite smart TVs, premium bedding with Endy mattresses, propane BBQ's, toiletries, coffee maker, kettle, cooking essentials, silverware and electric fireplaces.  

Situated on fourteen acres, just six kilometers off the Cabot Trail, Valley View Chalets location is sure to offer something for everyone.  At the gateway to the Cape Breton Highlands, snowmobiliers and ATVers can leave from one of our four chalets and immediately start their day exploring the vast trail system. Golfers can be teeing off at world renowned golf course in Inverness, Baddeck and Cheticamp just thirty-five minutes after leaving the property. Those looking to explore all the Maragree Valley has to offer can be on the river bank in minutes, and those looking to relax with a book can look no further than our oversized patio. 

In honor of members of the Fraser clan that lived, worked, and raised their families on -or in view of- the Mountain that bares their name, we have christened each chalet after one of Malcolms great grandchildren, some of whom are now great grandfathers themselves.
